What are the responsibilities and job description for the Forklift Operator position at Diaz Foods?
This position is responsible for operating and using powered forklifts to move pallets throughout the warehouse and place products in designated slots. This position requires an individual who possesses a mature, positive attitude; someone who follows instructions and who is willing to learn the skills required to be successful at this job.
A Forklift Operator is responsible for:
- Putting away product to assigned slots · Replenishing of pick-slots
- Maintaining the aisles and pick slots clean and free of empty pallets, debris, and any other obstructions
- Ensuring all product is properly scanned to the correct slot location
- Performing cycle-counts to ensure inventory accuracy
- Complying with work and safety rules
- Meeting assigned production standards
- Maintaining quality of work that limits miss-picks, shorts, and damages
- Working independently and in a team environment
- Being trained and certified to operate any required equipment
- Maintaining a flexible schedule to meet the changing needs of the department: work schedules may require working an early shift, staying long for a late shift, and weekend work depending on the customer and operational requirements of the division
- Work in warm and cold temperature conditions; including possible assignments in the -10 degree freezer
- Stand, walk, bend, stoop, push, pull, grasp, and reach above the head continuously
- Must have narrow aisle experience

- Must report to work at the scheduled time set by the team’s Manager
- Be capable of operating computerized technology
- Attention to detail - ability to follow instructions
- Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
- Must have reliable transportation to facility on a daily basis
