What are the responsibilities and job description for the Reading Interventionist Grades PK-2 position at Diboll Independent School District?
- Works with individual students and student groups to provide effective interventions to improve student performance.
- Support classroom instruction through modeling and mentoring.
- Facilitate campus screening and assist with all other state and local assessments as needed.
- Review student data with classroom teachers and assist in determining appropriate tiered intervention.
- Assist classroom teachers in determining and implementing appropriate tiered intervention.
- Serve as a member of the campus RTI committee.
- Work with district Instructional Specialists in the developing and implementing effective intervention programs.
- Assist classroom teacher and Instructional Specialist in the delivery of campus wide instructional initiatives.
- Confer with principals and district administrators concerning instructional issues.
- Assist with coordinating campus and district efforts to improve instruction for each child.
- Facilitate, participate and provide campus and district staff development.
- Meet weekly with campus Instructional Specialist for planning and information dissemination.
- Work with Instructional Specialists and administrators to create a collaborative team to strengthen the instructional program of the school and district.
- Compile, budget and cost estimates based on documented program needs.
- Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
- Comply with federal and state laws, State Board of Education rule, and board policy. Comply with all district and campus routines and regulations.

Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree from accredited university
Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements or training for subject and level assigned
Special Education Certification
Science of Teaching Reading(Preferred)
Demonstrated competency in the core academic subject area assigned
[Physical Education Teachers: Current automated external defibrillator (AED) and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certificate]
