Broad Function:
The Project Engineer will oversee the planning, execution, and completion of processing plant and manufacturing facility upgrade projects. This role requires experience with construction site management, along with project and mechanical drawing software. The position involves working closely with frontline operations and maintenance team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of facility upgrade projects within a mineral processing plant and manufacturing facility.
- Develop project scopes, timelines, and resource plans, and communicate goals, progress, and results to the team and senior management.
- Monitor project progress and adjust plans as necessary to ensure timely completion.
- Evaluate and ensure that projects meet safety, quality, and environmental standards.
- Oversee the development of engineering designs for mineral processing equipment and systems.
- Ensure that all designs meet operational requirements, industry standards, and regulatory guidelines.
- Collaborate with the team to develop solutions for technical challenges and optimize processes.
- Prepare and manage project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within cost constraints.
- Track expenditures and identify cost-saving opportunities without compromising quality or safety.
- Provide regular financial reporting to senior management.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including procurement, operations, and safety.
- Provide leadership and guidance to contractors and site personnel.
- Foster a collaborative and efficient working environment.
- Identify potential risks to project timelines, costs, or quality, and develop mitigation strategies.
- Ensure that safety protocols are strictly followed to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Evaluate and address environmental impacts related to the mineral processing operations.
- Ensure that all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including technical drawings, specifications, and reports.
- Prepare detailed project reports and presentations for senior management.
- Recommend and implement process improvements to increase operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Stay current on industry trends, best practices, and technological advancements in mineral processing.

Qualifications:
- Degree in Engineering (or a related field).
- Three to five years of experience in project engineering, preferably in mineral processing or heavy industrial environments.
- Heavy Industrial construction experience.
- Engineering or related technical experience.
- Knowledge of budgeting and cost estimation for heavy industrial projects.
- Experience developing electronic mechanical engineering drawings.
- Understanding of PLC program logic and electronic monitoring equipment.
- Able to read and interpret documents and instructions such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, loading charts, diagrams, schedule forms, material labeling, and safety data sheets.
- Strong knowledge of mineral processing technologies and equipment.
- Proficiency in project management tools and software.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Familiarity with CAD software for technical design and drawings (e.g., AutoCAD).
- Able to pass a drug test.
Working Conditions:
- While performing the essential functions of this position, the candidate will regularly work near moving mechanical parts and be regularly exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
- Regular outdoor environments, moderate to loud noise levels.
- Standing for long periods on concrete or other hard surfaces; walking over rough and uneven terrain.
- Frequently works in high places and is frequently exposed to vibration.
