What are the responsibilities and job description for the Final Inspection Operator Two - D Shift position at Dicastal North America?
Location: Greenville, MI
Reports to: Production Team Leader
The Inspection/Rework Operator is responsible for ensuring finished wheels meet DNA quality standards while following all safety requirements to do so. The operator may also use tools to make simple fixes to wheels where possible.
- Perform all tasks associated with inspection stations 1-4
- Knows different plug types (L14, L32, L10, L19, L22)
- Knows the colors of the totes that plugs go in (Blue, Grey, Green, Yellow, Red)
- Puts the correct plugs in the correct totes
- Can identify what 3 areas of the wheel that can not have paint in or on them.
- Knows where to find; helium stamp, x ray stamp, heat treat stamp, casting stamp.
- Knows how to identify and mark defects
- Can circle defect with yellow chalk marker
- Write station numbers on wheels
- Can set wheel on reject conveyor to go to defect offload
- Perform all tasks associated with inspection station 5-7
- Knows wheel types
- Know the different stickers and what wheel they go on
- Knows correct sticker placement
- Perform the gauging required at these stations
- Checks for burrs on valve hole
- Inspections windows for defects (butts, paint runs/sags, sanding marks)
- Knows how to identify and mark defects
- Perform all tasks associated with station 8
- Other duties as assigned or designated
