Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Freight Operations Supervisor to join our team at DICK'S Sporting Goods. This role will be responsible for overseeing the execution of brand standards and ensuring a seamless customer experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support store leadership in building a strong team by participating in interviews and department tours.
- Develop a people-first culture by fostering relationships with all teammates, promoting mutual trust, respect, and contributing to the store's recognition culture.
- Plan, organize, and control daily assignments, game plans, projects, or store events 30 days in advance with the guidance of the Assistant Store Manager.
- Leverage teammates to ensure brand standards are met, programs and processes are executed daily, and tasks are delegated based on priority level.
- Assist the store leadership team with general supervision, including opening and closing the store, performing Front End and Cash Office functions, and processing firearms sales in compliance with State and Federal ATF regulations, where applicable.
- Maintain company merchandising and presentation standards by following established floor sets, signage requirements, price changes, inventory presentation, and replenishment standards.
- Train teammates on company procedures and programs, including onboarding new teammates and cross-training current teammates.
- Prioritize coaching and developing oneself and others, providing hands-on coaching and teaching the 'why' behind tasks, plans, and processes.
- Lead by example to support the vision of the organization and store, helping teammates understand how their responsibilities align to the common purpose, organizational goals, and delivering a hassle-free shopping experience.
- Create an inclusive store environment where everyone feels welcome, safe, and respected.
- Adhere to established policies and procedures related to safety, loss prevention, and standard operating procedures. Maintain confidentiality of all Company information.
Requirements:
- Flexible availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Prior retail sales experience (or customer-focused experience) is preferred.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 15-50 lbs items repetitively (up to 25 times per hour).
- Ability to work extended periods of time (up to 4 hours) standing or walking.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, reach, push, pull, and lift up to 70 lbs items intermittently (up to 15 times per hour) with assistance and/or manual lifting equipment.
- Ability to work at heights greater than 4 feet with use of a ladder, aerial lifting device, or platform.
