OVERVIEW :
The Senior Store Design Planner designs and delivers new and remodel DICK'S Sporting Goods store plans by joining the physical and merchandising attributes of the brand into cost conscious spaces that excite and engage our athletes and teammates. The Sr Store Design Planner combines business strategies, athlete and teammate experiences, and performance metrics with site-specific conditions, fixtures, materials, and design principles to define each store's space, navigation, and merchandising flow. This person ensures the accurate translation of the merchandising, brand, and design intent into each store environment through the review, support, direction, and guidance of internal and external stakeholders. Specifically, the Sr. Store Design Planner is responsible for each store's plan and its development process, creating highly detailed, complete, accurate and fully coordinated floorplans. The Sr Store Design Planner designs and develops plans for the most complex (high anomaly, flagship, new concept, prototype sets, and multi-level historic building retrofit) Dicks Sporting Goods sites.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
Architectural Floor Planning
- Assesses, designs, and documents site conditions that will affect the store environment, project cost, and athlete experience for each potential new, relocation, or remodel brick-and-mortar store.
- Designs plan options that meet or improve upon the site budget and return on investment thresholds, and prepares the corresponding presentations for review, alignment, and approval.
- Effectively utilizes store design guidelines and standards for exterior and interior development and influences their evolution.
- Assists in maintaining an up-to-date Remodel scope prioritization matrix and corresponding cost estimates.
- Creates architecture and fixture floor plans prior to formally presenting them for review and approval.
- Collaborates with Real Estate, Space Planning, and Visual Merchandising teams to designing feasibility plans that maximize the site footprints and aligns the interior space with the market-specific athlete makeup.
- Partners with architects in preparing construction documents. Participates in and supports discussions with internal and external architects.
- Provides guidance to Associate Store Planners and reviews their plans for design quality and accuracy.
- Identifies and leads special projects, initiatives, and program rollouts. Assists in coordinating draw schedules and assigning projects to team members.
- Leverages an in depth understanding of ADA codes and regulations in designing store plans.
- Ensures the accuracy of the plans they and their teams have designed prior to releasing them to the architect of record.
- Maintains visibility to project budgets, forecasts, and actuals in designing solutions that are within budget while raising awareness to risks.
- Is a key point of contact through all phases of a project for the resolution of site condition related issues and the coordination of solutions with all internal and external partners.
