Dickeys BBQ Pit Crew Member
Our Dickey’s BBQ Pit is now hiring Crew Members for immediate start dates. Successful applicants will be motivated, have good social skills and be able to multitask in a fast paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a fast speed of service, especially during rush times.
- Stand on your feet for eight hours
- Take orders from customers & input their selections into the restaurant computer systems.
- Assemble orders on trays or in bags depending on the type of order.
- Process large orders for events.
- Clean your station thoroughly before, during & after each shift.
- Help cook & work the pit/barbecue.
- Crew Member must help with the cashier
Qualifications
- Able to lift 50 pounds to waist level
- Customer service skills
- Neat, clean, and professional appearance
- Be able to work with minimal supervision
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule
- Exhibit a sense of urgency
- Strong stamina to work long or split shifts
- Willingness to work on your feet
- Basic culinary coursework or equivalent experience desired
- Highly collaborate nature
- Previous prep or line cook experience preferred

Dickey's Barbecue Pit is a true American success story. In 1941, Travis Dickey, a WWI veteran, opened the first Dickey's Barbecue Pit in Dallas, Texas. Dickey was a true Texas character blessed with the gift of gab and the love of authentic, slow smoked barbecue. In the beginning, Dickey’s Barbecue Pit was truly a family operation with Travis working the block and Miss Ollie Dickey serving sandwiches. Space on the restaurant sign was rented out to help pay the start up costs for the restaurant and the menu was limited to beef brisket, pit hams, barbecue beans, potato chips, beer, bottled milk and sodas.
