The Manufacturing Accountant responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Prepare budgets and forecast financials.
- Develop cost-control strategies and tactics.
- Monitor expenses at all steps of the manufacturing process.
- Recommend standard costs of manufactured goods.
- Recommend sales prices that will include appropriate margins to meet Company objectives.
- Record and analyze business expenses.
- Determine, track and report upon all expenses incurred during production.
- Track, report and manage labor needs.
- Track and report purchase of ingredients and packaging.
- Track and report sales.
- Post activities to General Ledger (GL).
- Purchase Order (PO) matching on received goods.
- Track and report freight costs, making recommendations to minimize costs
- Accounts payable functions.
- Accounts receivable and collections functions.
- Document, submit and validate inventory levels.
- Examine, analyze and interpret accounting records to prepare financial statements.
- Make recommendations and follow through on cost efficiencies.
- Create and audit financial statements.
- Control costs and implement efficiencies where possible.
- Investigate discrepancies.
- Perform month-end close activities including, but not limited to journal entries and reconciliations.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting or Business; or related experience.
- 2 – 3 years of experience in manufacturing
- Aptitude of numbers and competence in assessing larger datasets
- Experience with Net Suite a plus
- Experience with Account Mates a plus
