POSITION SUMMARY
The School-Based Program Mental Health Specialist provides behavioral health services within the assigned School District. These services are diverse and varied and include counseling, case management, psycho-education, and consultation. The Mental Health Specialist collaborates with school personnel, SAP team, parents and supervisor to ensure quality care. The Mental Health Specialist provides psycho-education and support to school personnel as requested, case management to identified students, and may participate in school in-services and student-related meetings as a MH representative.
POSITION QUALIFICATIONS
Education
- Master's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or other social services field, OR;
- Master's degree with at least 5 year experience and training in mental health treatment, OR;
- Bachelor's degree in social work, counseling, psychology or other social services field, OR;
- Bachelor's degree with at least 5 year experience and training in mental health treatment.
Experience
- Experience working with children, adolescents and families preferred.
Certifications & License
- Valid driver's license.
