Job Summary / Basic Function The Serving Area / Dish Utility Worker is Dining Services direct link to our student customers by interacting with students as they dine and ensuring they have a positive experience. They must maintain neat and sanitary work areas at all times, up to but not limited to all areas of the floor and dish room. They must operate the dish machine and all related equipment according to the guidelines established by the department.
- Essential Duties : Maintains a neat and sanitary work area at all times, by following all guidelines set by dining services HACCP program.Maintains and cleans the serving area and all related areas and equipment.Is required to be trained in all areas of the Floor and Dishroom.Maintains a safe work area and adheres to all college policies regarding safe work environments.This position is designated as “emergency response personnel”. “Emergency response personnel” are required to report to work when the college is delayed or closed. They may also be called in at any time of the day to respond to weather and / or other types of emergencies as needed.
- Other Duties May Include : Must be willing to work occasional holiday dinners and seasonal picnics throughout the academic year. These events occur 2-3 times per semester.Must be able to stand up to 3 hours at a time in a buffet line and assist
Preferred Qualifications Required : High School Diploma or GED
Previous customer service work in the hospitality or similar industry may substitute for a high school diploma or GED. ServSafe certification required or obtain certification within 1 year of hire.
A valid Driver's Licence is required. Employees (operators) must have been in possession of a valid operator’s license for not less than three (3) years and the license must have been in good standing without interruption during that time period. No Successful candidate will also be required to complete ACT 153 Clearance No This position is considered "Emergency Staff." As such they may be required to report to work even when the college is closed or is operating under a delayed start. Yes Physical Demands Must be able to lift up to 30 pounds at a time.
