Job Summary / Basic Function Collaborates with faculty, students, and colleagues in Information and Technology Services on projects associated with Academic Technology. Maintains leading edge understanding of present and emerging instructional, and multimedia technologies as they apply to the liberal arts environment.
Essential Functions :
- Serves as the Academic Technology department liaison to multiple academic departments. Synthesizes and shares appropriate discipline specific information with faculty and academic departments. Assesses faculty technology requirements and uses consultative skills to recommend and integrate appropriate digital technology solutions for teaching and scholarship. Advises and instructs faculty on the development of pedagogical strategies and academic technology
- Conducts individual, group and / or classroom training sessions on digital applications for teaching and learning with a focus on multimedia projects in the to the liberal arts curriculum. Designs, develops and evaluates instructional materials and programs. Makes effective oral and written presentations. Creates documentation in support of the academic mission.
- Supports Academic Technology department core services. Core Academic Technology department services include : support for the media center (including equipment check out, instruction, equipment and multimedia application support, support of collaborative and recording spaces); classroom technology support; researching and making recommendations for technology equipment and application purchases and maintaining current skills using academic technologies.
- Provides technical expertise to the campus community on the use of the campus web based instructional and content management systems and digital asset management applications such as D2L Brightspace, WordPress, etc. Promotes and supports use of digital technologies and rich media tools including mobile devices; multimedia applications; digital storytelling; academic simulations and games; augmented reality; text and data visualization applications and the campus maker space.
- Maintains a high level of awareness about pedagogy and emerging instructional technologies. Monitors, evaluates and shares trends in academic technology. Explores new technologies, materials, and techniques for their potential to foster innovation and creativity and distinguish Dickinson College as a leader in academic technology. Evaluates existing systems for future enhancement or replacement.
- Provides planning, instruction and implementation support for the annual faculty technology development program. Provides continued guidance for technology-based course redesign or digital projects to achieve pedagogical and scholarly goals. Acts as project manager for assigned faculty technology projects.
Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree – Instructional Technology / Education / Communication / Media or other related field
1-5 years work experience

Master’s Degree – Instructional Technology / Communication / Media or other related field A valid Driver's Licence is required. Employees (operators) must have been in possession of a valid operator’s license for not less than three (3) years and the license must have been in good standing without interruption during that time period. No Successful candidate will also be required to complete ACT 153 Clearance No This position is considered "Emergency Staff." As such they may be required to report to work even when the college is closed or is operating under a delayed start.
