Job Summary / Basic Function The Utility Worker Dishroom Attendant employee is responsible for the operation of the dishroom during their shift. The Utility Worker Dishroom Attendant employee reports to the Dining Hall Manager. In the absence of the Dining Hall Manager they report to the manager on duty for all assignments.
Essential Functions :
- Operates the dish machine and all related equipment according to the guidelines established by the department.
- Maintains the dish machine, all related equipment and all work areas in a clean sanitary manner.
- Observes all safety and sanitation policies established by the department.
- Works with and trains all college and high school student employees in the correct operation of the dish machine and related areas and equipment.
- Scheduled scrubbing of equipment and floors.
- Scheduled cleaning of dish carts.
- This position is designated as “emergency response personnel”. “Emergency response personnel” are required to report to work when the college is delayed or closed. They may also be called in at any time of the day to respond to weather and / or other types of emergencies as needed.
- Other Duties as assigned.
Preferred Qualifications High school diploma or GED
Prior work experience in an institutional setting is preferred. The ability to work with and interact with other employees and young adults is essential. A valid Driver's Licence is required. Employees (operators) must have been in possession of a valid operator’s license for not less than three (3) years and the license must have been in good standing without interruption during that time period. No Successful candidate will also be required to complete ACT 153 Clearance No This position is considered "Emergency Staff." As such they may be required to report to work even when the college is closed or is operating under a delayed start. Yes Physical Demands This position requires the employee to stand for long periods of time. It also requires bending and must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. Work Schedule Advertised Work Schedule Hours starting as early as 6 : 00 am and as late as midnight. 2 days off per week with a varying schedule, weekend work is required.
