Job Summary / Basic Function The History Department at Dickinson College is seeking candidates for a one-year visiting assistant professor who would be expected to teach five courses : one survey of US history since 1877, one modern African American history survey, and three courses of their choice (in consultation with the department chair). The department is particularly interested in candidates with expertise in women’s and / or gender history. The ability to create inclusive learning environments for an increasingly diverse student body will be an important characteristic of the successful candidate.
Dickinson College is a highly selective four-year, independent liberal arts college with 2300 students. It is located 20 minutes west of Harrisburg and is a two-hour drive from Baltimore, Washington, DC, and Philadelphia.
