POSITION SUMMARY:
- Responsible for providing curriculum leadership in the assigned content/grade levels
- Position objectives include the development, articulation, and monitoring of a research-based curriculum
- Improve teaching and learning by supporting campus leadership teams
- Coordinate professional learning opportunities
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education/Certification:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Master’s Degree (preferred)
- Texas Teacher Certification
Special Knowledge/Skills:
- Comprehensive knowledge of content area TEKS, curriculum development, alignment, and maintenance
- Clear understanding of instructional strategies and effective interventions/extensions
- Comprehensive knowledge of the development and administration of assessments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Effective time management and organizational skills
- Demonstrates excellence and professionalism as an educator
- Demonstrates ability to work well with people, maintain positive relationships, and solve problems
- Ability to analyze and use a variety of data sources for teacher and student improvement

Experience:
- Five years of experience as a classroom teacher
- Leadership roles in school-related projects
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:
Curriculum Management:
- Facilitate and guide the development and implementation of the district curriculum
- Meet all timelines for curriculum development, updates, and revisions
- Design and revise curriculum to ensure alignment with state/national standards using research-based instructional practices at the appropriate levels of depth and complexity involving input from teachers and instructional coaches
- Support campus leadership teams in their efforts to improve teaching and learning through regular campus visits
- Develop district assessments and assist teams in the development of campus assessments that are aligned with the depth and rigor of state standards
- Analyze local and state assessment data to support learner-driven, evidence-informed decisions to improve teaching and learning
- Work closely with the Educational Services team to ensure alignment across programs and content areas
- Lead and facilitate the selection of state-aligned instructional materials involving stakeholder input
Professional Development:
- Provide professional learning opportunities for teachers and instructional coaches to support vertical alignment and effective teaching and assessment strategies, to increase student achievement based on campus/district needs
- Provide professional learning opportunities to identify and implement acceleration strategies appropriate for advanced students as well as struggling students
- Attend regional and state conferences and actively participates in content area professional organization(s) to keep abreast of current research-based practices

During work hours, visible body piercings (except earrings) will not be allowed. Visible tattoos will be covered always.
