The Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District is looking for an exceptional Director of Special Education to guide and elevate our district's special education programs. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dedicated team, shape the future of special education, and ensure that every student has access to a high-quality, inclusive education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide oversight and leadership to the Special Education Department in program organization, staff development, service delivery, evaluation, budget and finance.
- Ensure compliance with Federal and State of Michigan Special Education Rules.
- Provide regulatory oversight in processing and reviewing special education data, documentation and reports to the Department of Education.
Requirements:
- Masters Degree.
- Full approval in at least one area of Special Education.
- Three years of successful professional practice or administrative experience in Special Education or combination thereof.
- Fulfill State of Michigan Special Education Rules for Director.
- Full or temporary approval as Director of Special Education.
Additional Requirements:
- Must have regular and reliable attendance.
- All other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions:
- Occasional exposure to blood, bodily fluid and tissue.
- May be required to use personal vehicle to perform job related functions.
