Service Technician

Summary/Objective:

Provide filed service for equipment at customer sites throughout assigned territory and service in-house returns promptly without sacrificing quality of work.

Essential Functions:

• Troubleshooting and diagnosing electrical, mechanical, and similar problems on equipment and perform timely repairs
• Dismantling defective equipment and installing new or repaired equipment
• Maintaining accurate records of all inspections, tests, and repairs
• Maintain a clean and safe work area
• Manage parts inventory for accuracy through daily cycle counts
• Travel to customer facilities to perform audits of product
• Assist Sales Representatives and OEM with-in-field repairs and quality inspections

• Familiar with basic power and hand tools
• Mechanical and technical aptitude
• Good interpersonal and communication skills
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
• Ability to use basic measurement instruments such as tape measure, scales, and gauges
• Ability to read and write English and perform basic math problems
• Basic computer knowledge to complete data entry
• Ability to maintain a valid driver’s license and pass requirements for company driving

Supervisory Responsibility:

• None

Work Environment:

• Work is normally performed in a manufacturing work environment

Physical Demands:

• Moderate physical activity, must be able to stand, bend, stoop, climb, reach and lift product/equipment requiring handling product that can weigh more than 50 lbs

Required Education and Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent

Preferred Education and Experience:

• 1-2 years’ experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified
