We’re seeking a Transporter to join our team. In this role you will be key in connecting our members by safely transporting our passengers over specified routes in and around the Swinomish Indian Tribal Community. didgwálic Wellness Center is an integrated outpatient care clinic that combines primary care, behavioral health, and opiate treatment all under one roof. Our mission is to improve outcomes with quality health care solutions by removing barriers to treatment. Our comprehensive services include primary care, behavioral health, and opiate treatment in a dedicated care team model. We also go beyond these services to support our clients by offering a range of services like transportation, childcare, dental services, acupuncture, yoga, case management, and even free lunches while onsite. Our beautiful, state-of-the-art facility is located near Anacortes, Washington.
The schedule for this role is 30 hours, with shifts, Friday - Sunday 1:45p.m. – 11:45p.m.

What You’ll Do
- Operate 15 passenger vans over defined transportation routes.
- Follow schedules and uses resources as necessary to plan completion of each route based on road and traffic conditions.
- Ensure that all passenger transportation is conducted in full compliance of traffic laws and regulations.
- Operate the wheelchair lift by following safety procedures and protocols.
- Assist disabled passengers with onboarding/offboarding as necessary.
- Instruct passengers in all safety precautions and practices while riding in Swdbš transit vehicles.
- Interact with customers in a professional manner and maintains discipline, reports all passenger behavior to the transportation manager.
- Complete and submits mileage logs, passenger reports, etc.
- Ensure that assigned vehicles meet regular maintenance schedules and keeps operational records.
- Conduct mechanical conditions inspections daily, such as checking fluid levels and operational performance of the assigned vehicle.
- Report in a timely manner all delays and accidents.
Qualifications
Must Haves*
- 1 years of experience in passenger transports, emergency vehicle operation, or a relevant position.
- Valid Washington State Drivers License in good standing, with a clean driving record of minimum of 5 years.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Successful completion of CPR, first-aid, and seizure training provided by the company personnel or a certificate indicating prior successful completion of such training.
- Extensive knowledge and experience of all traffic and highway safety rules and precautions.
- Effective communication, written, verbal and interpersonal skills, including conflict resolution.
- Reliable and capable of working independently and remaining calm in case of emergency.
- Ability to pass extensive criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
- Tribal affiliation a plus!
