Wellness Specialist (Olympic Suicide Prevention Center)

This is a full-time and hybrid position. Candidates must be local to Los Angeles, CA. 

The pay for this role is $28.00 per hour.

Summary

As a Wellness Specialist, you will support the Wellness program by creating and implementing wellness initiatives and activities for staff and volunteers at the Suicide Prevention Center, Crisis Line.

Primary Duties

• Assist in planning in-person and virtual appreciation, team building, and wellness education events including an annual volunteer/staff gathering.
• Partner with Wellness Coordinator in creating and distributing a monthly events calendar that focuses on community building, staff support, and wellness education.
• Help in facilitating team building and ice-breaker activities for various in-person and virtual events.
• Assist with conducting regular support and processing groups for staff and volunteers
• Publicize various wellness events using platforms such as Microsoft Teams and Outlook.
• Research new wellness resources to provide to staff and volunteers and update resources page on an ongoing basis.
• Research and develop new ideas for events and wellness initiatives
• Track volunteer and staff tenure, milestones, and achievements and assist in development of a recognition process within SPC
• Collaborate on wellness section of the regular SPC volunteer and staff newsletters to share staff/volunteer recognition, ongoing initiatives, events calendar, and wellness-related updates
• Provide support for clubs by participating in Teams groups and events when possible
• Assist in organizing professional development opportunities including hiring fairs and virtual discussions with leadership, team members, and professionals in the mental health field
• Seek donations from local businesses to use during various wellness events and giveaways.

Position Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent experience is required. 
• Working knowledge of mental health services and suicide prevention services.
• Working knowledge of Agency policies and procedures, HIPAA, DMH, Department of Social Services, and other state, federal regulations related to outpatient and crisis line services.
• Advanced skills to present ideas, information, and viewpoints clearly, both verbally and in writing.
• Superior organizational skills to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
• Effectively collaboration and relationship building skills.
• Telephone and personal computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets, and other related software.
• Ability to use analysis, experience, and judgment to make effective decisions.
