The Recycling Laborer sorts through collected trash and debris for recyclable materials and separates items into established categories such as aluminum, ferrous metals, glass, high-grade white paper, and corrugated paper. This worker discards contaminants and other items that cannot be recycled (WDR Summary 99710).
- Emptying recycles containers into portable collection bins.
- Transporting recyclables to the disposal area.
- Sorting materials by type as required.
- Compacting and binding cardboard.
- Delivering gaylords for customers to fill with recycle material and retrieving the same when completed.
- Pick up cardboard and other recycled materials randomly placed in hallways or as requested by the customer.
- Printer /toner cartridges are to be picked up and properly sealed and stored by the mailroom by the loading dock.
- Cleaning recycles bins, surrounding areas, and assigned workspace as required.
- Responsible for working with a positive team spirit and producing quality work.
- Responsible for appropriate conduct and demeanor as dictated by Didlake Policy.
- Follows safety standards and guidelines in the proper use of the equipment and other activities.
- Completes and maintains all Didlake required training.
