Job Responsibilities: Location: Montezuma Summary: The P2001 Operator will operate P2001 stamping press to produce quality parts to meet production expectations. Job Responsibilities: The following duties are normal for this position. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned and required. Participate in station rotations, including machine operation, die setting, loading of coils, destacker operations, feeder operations and part packaging Perform complete die sets per set up books and complete related paperwork accurately Perform operator machine maintenance checklist as directed by the Supervisor Perform die or press corrections when applicable or contact leader/proper support personnel Assist in training new operators on basic machine operations and quality inspections Responsible for quality of the parts produced and report any nonconforming parts to Quality and Supervisor immediately Trouble shoot all operations of equipment and report any machine or tooling problems to the Supervisor immediately Recommend proposals for improving products, processes, systems, productivity and work environment through the Continuous Improvement Process Maintain positive working relationships with fellow employees and keep other employees advised of conditions within the work area Complete scheduled work and tasks within time allotted Review previous shift logs for operations problems Record production data as appropriate to include classifying FunnelCloud downtime, pre-shift forklift and crane inspections Follow and support Magna Body & Chassis Iowa’s and Magna’s operating principles Support efforts to achieve department and plant goals on Employee Opinion Survey Supervisory Responsibilities: None Education and/or Experience: None Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Forklift and crane certified Ability to work with minimal direction Basic SPC knowledge preferred Physical Demands: Per functional job description Involves lifting 40 lbs occasionally and 5 to 15 lbs frequently Environmental Conditions: Normal factory conditions Awareness, Unity, Empowerment: At Magna, we believe that a diverse workforce is critical to our success.
