- Develop strong working partnerships with Store/Satellite Directors and Management Teams to understand business objectives and candidate requirements
- Conduct regular follow-up with Store/Satellite Directors to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans, forecast for future openings, and educate store management on the realities of the applicant pool
- Communicate with Associates regularly to establish rapport, gauge morale, and to identify qualified candidates and establish a strong reputation for the company to attract new Associates
Candidate Experience Management
- Serve as the first point of contact for potential candidates, offering a friendly and professional experience from application through hiring
- Ensure consistent, clear, and timely communication with candidates at all stages of the recruitment process
- Provide an exceptional candidate experience by setting clear expectations, answering questions, and offering a transparent hiring process
Sourcing, Recruiting, Interviewing and Selection
- Assist with planning and execution college, high school and community recruiting initiatives and job fairs
- Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate recruiting
- Screen resumes, conduct initial screens, and manage in-person or virtual interviews
- Conduct interviews with candidates, assess their skills and experience, and ensure they meet the qualifications for the position providing clearly documented notes throughout the process
- Partner with hiring managers as needed to discuss candidate profiles, offer insights, and make informed hiring decisions
- Evaluate and select candidates in a timely manner to meet staffing needs across locations
- Oversee maintenance of job postings and recruitment focused signage in each store location within the region
- Promote the company's brand and culture to potential hires to ensure alignment with our values.
- Able to appropriately challenge the norms and promote a new way of doing things that contributes to the successful staffing of the region
Onboarding and New Hire Experience
- Facilitate a smooth onboarding process for new hires, ensuring all necessary paperwork is completed
- Assist with new Associate orientations - requires an evening rotational shift
- Ensure new hires feel informed and prepared for their first day on the job
- Provide ongoing support to new Associates during their transition into the company, ensuring they have a positive experience
Metrics and Reporting
- Have a pulse on key recruitment metrics including, time-to-fill, candidate response times, and new hire retention rates
- Continuously evaluate and refine recruitment strategies based on feedback from business partners, candidates, and through data analysis
- Collaborate with business partners and Talent Acquisition Manager to forecast staffing needs and ensure the right talent is available when needed
About you
- Bachelor's Degree in HR or a related field of study preferred
- Proven experience in high-volume recruiting, preferably in retail or customer service industries
- Experience in retail or customer-facing roles, with an understanding of the unique staffing challenges and dynamics of the retail environment preferred
- Strong commitment to providing a seamless candidate experience
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage and build relationships with candidates at all levels
- Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS) and job boards
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Self-directed, proactive and motivated
- Solid judgment and problem-solving ability
- Supports diverse perspectives and backgrounds
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
- A proactive, solution-oriented mindset with the ability to overcome challenges and improve recruitment processes
- Strong computer skills with experience in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Must be able to travel between various Dierbergs locations
