Parts Runner
Responsible for safe and efficient transportation of parts from vendors to WDO facilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Picking up parts at vendors as needed and provide packing slips / invoices to manager.
- Verify parts to be sure they match the invoice before they leave the parts house.
- Inspect all received parts for damage, quality, and accuracy.
- When picking up parts from vendors, be professional as you are the face of the company at that time.
- Returning cores to vendors for credits.
- Collaborating with service advisor / managers to ensure all parts are available for repair jobs.
- Follow all driving laws, speed limits, construction zone signage, and DOT / Law Enforcement direction in construction and / or accident zones.
- Perform vehicle pre-trip inspection to make sure it is DOT compliant.
- Pick up and delivery company vehicles when needed from location to location and perform test drives for repaired vehicles, if CDL compliant.
- Keep parts area clean and well organized.
- Make sure all personal belongings and trash are removed from the parts vehicle when parking it for the night. Keep the vehicle clean at all times.
- Help maintain cleanliness of facility inside and out
Education and Experience:
- CDL License with HAZMAT
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Problem-solving skills to deal with parts inventory issues.
- Previous parts or mechanic experience preferred.
Work Environment and Physical Demands:
- Must be able to work consistently in between a climate-controlled, professional office environment and a non-climate-controlled shop environment.
- Use of standard office equipment (i.e., computer, copier, scanner, etc.).
- Moderate standing, walking, or bending.
- Driving of periods up to 2 hours each.
- Occasional lifting up to 50lbs
- Must maintain a valid Driver’s License
