What are the responsibilities and job description for the Art Director position at Dieste Inc.?
Dieste is looking for an Art Director to join the Creative team in our Dallas, TX office. This position offers a hybrid schedule with 3 days in office.
Responsibilities :
Strategy / Idea Generation / Visual Development
Passionate about bringing forth ideas; creating advertising
Think conceptually, not executionally. Make sure to not undermine the work and the thinking based on the short format
Participate in concept development sessions
Develop visual(s) / design to effectively communicate ad strategy
Maintain a working relationship with copywriter to ensure mutual integrity of the idea
Share, alongside CW, copy & layout in clean form to creative supervisor together to gain input on strategy adherence, message expression & connection with bulls eye target
Present along with CW, concept ideas, story lines, copy / visuals, etc internally to extended team; discuss options and obtain feedback
Fosters ways to apply strategic brief into arresting communication that connects with targeted consumer
Constantly work to improve the quality of conceptual development and design execution.
Strategic and passionate about social media content creation, inclusive of reels, TikTok vids, Meta ads, and organic video content.
Critical and aware of the visual differences between long format advertising and short format video content
Creative Management
Attends internal briefing sessions, retrieves work orders from creative supervisor for projects
Along with CW partner, obtains necessary background information required to accomplish assigned projects.
Attends product orientations, brands reviews on assigned accounts to stay abreast of brand equity, competitive claims, category conventions, etc.
Deliver layouts to creative supervisor
Assist creative supervisors in presenting concepts, copy and visuals to clients when necessary
Advise creative supervisor well in advance of any planned deviation from job order input and time schedules
Firmly uphold and upgrade the agency's creative standards in a spirit of cooperation with agency associates
Production
Collaborate with art director to co-create, develop and finish in-house video content for any of our brands. This includes directing talent, video shotting content, working on lighting and props, choosing locations, writing production and casting specs.
Collaborate with copywriter, and production personnel in the production of any branded materials. This includes developing the final layout; specifying and ordering type; specifying and ordering photography or artwork including retouching; supervising the preparation of the mechanical; checking mechanicals, and proofs.
Participate with the copywriter and producer in the production of broadcast materials. This includes participation in preproduction meetings; assisting in the production, with primary responsibility for visual impact and accuracy; supervision of all super art. It also includes active participation in all viewing of forms at postproduction, such as assisting in edit; attending transfer sessions, with special attention to lighting and color to help ensure the quality and accuracy of the finished product.
Adheres to timeline / production schedule on assigned accounts
Requirements :
3-5 yrs related experience; with comprehensive understanding of Latino culture
Undergraduate degree or associate degree preferred
Knows the basics of directing, editing video and images, shooting content, styling talent, and lighting a set
Keeps abreast of contemporary visual practices throughout the country and internationally in order to recognize opportunities for innovation.
Imaginative art director; proven in various formats (broadcast, print, non-traditional)
Familiar with production requirements including time factors associated w / print & broadcast and cost implications
Articulate in presenting concepts, ideas, scripts, storyboards
Familiar w / Hispanic targeted media, understanding strengths / weaknesses of each medium is a plus
Team player : able to resolve in a calm & controlled manner conflicts or differences that arise
Understands basic production processes associated with print & broadcast
Artistic design skills; proficient in basic layout and design
Collaborates well with copywriters & creative supervisors
Computer programs (Word, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Keynote, Power Point, Canva, CapCut, Adobe Express)
