Responsibilities
- Manage the daily operations of the dietary department, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Conduct patient assessments to determine individual dietary needs and preferences.
- Develop and implement care plans that align with nutritional guidelines and patient health goals.
- Oversee tube feeding procedures and ensure proper administration according to patient requirements.
- Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide health coaching and dietary education to patients and staff.
- Monitor budgetary constraints while maintaining high standards of food quality and service.
- Ensure accurate documentation of dietary services, including meal plans and patient progress reports.
- Train and supervise dietary staff, fostering a collaborative team environment focused on patient care.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Dietetics, Nutrition, or a related field preferred.
- Proven experience in dietary management within a healthcare setting.
- Strong knowledge of physiology and nutrition principles as they relate to patient care.
- Familiarity with budgeting processes and cost management in a dietary context.
- Excellent communication skills for effective interaction with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to assess patient needs accurately and develop appropriate dietary interventions.
- Certification as a Dietary Manager (CDM) or Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN) is a plus but not required.
