What are the responsibilities and job description for the Truck Scale Administrator position at Dietzler Construction Corp?
Position Summary
A truck Scale Administrator is responsible for accurately assigning and weighing loads to appropriate trucks and commodities. General data input, invoicing, reports, emailing, memos and other office administrative work is also required with this position. Working with truckers, trucking companies, transload facilities, our accounting and management team to ensure accurate information is collected and filed appropriately with every load is important to this position.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
- Scale Administrator will weigh and record loads, both inbound and outbound, and other.
- Attendants will enter and retrieve data and prepare reports from an on-line and computer system following established formats.
- The Attendant will report numerical calculations and spreadsheets, based on drafts, notes, and/or brief instructions utilizing Word, Excel and/or other designated software products as specified.
- Operate standard office equipment; perform such administrative support activities as opening and distributing mail, processing outgoing mail, filing, and other document recordkeeping functions.
- Perform pre-shift inspections of equipment.
- Maintains daily scale operations, recording outbound weights, generating tickets, daily records.
- Communicates with shift leads and plant manager as to any process malfunctions or irregularities.
Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)
- Entry level: general experience as a Scale House Attendant helpful but not required.
- Understanding and follow both written and oral instructions in an independent manner.
- Communicate orally and in writing in a clear, accurate, and positive manner.
- Able to use computer and software such as WORD, EXCEL, and database in an accurate and timely manner.
- Prioritize work and coordinate several activities simultaneously; establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the process of completing assigned duties.
- Must be willing to work any assigned shift, overtime, weekends, and holidays.
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S. on a full-time basis and be at least 18 years of age.

- Regularly - required to sit or stand, reach, and move about the facility.
- Work Environment – Indoor office work, will need to be inside and outside to communicate with truckers and deliver scale tickets and other general paperwork.
