Receiving Clerk
Department: Grocery/GM
Supervisor: Grocery Manager
Hours: Full Time/Part Time
Position Summary
Responsible for checking products in through procedures established. Counting all items and double-checking invoice for correct amounts. Through efficient and thorough completion of the responsibilities of the receiver, shrink will be reduced and store profits increased.
Job Duties
- Helps to manage and maintain a clean and safe environment to work and shop.
- Effective communication with team members and supervisors to build and maintain morale.
- Knowledge of company policies, programs, and procedures.
- Promote a harassment-free work and shopping environment, and immediately reports any potential harmful situation.
- Continually strives to build knowledge and skills, both personally and within the department.
- Proper product handling, case cutting, price marking, rotation, facing, and display of merchandise.
- Follow through and achieve all company policies, programs, and directives.
- Be a team player and able to do the jobs/tasks asked by others.
- Maintain quality standards within the department and store.
- Assist guests to help improve their shopping experience.
- Completes tasks efficiently and in a timely manner
- Follows all receiving policies, including accepting check-in, and signing for products, verifying item count on every invoice, verifying costs and allowances with proper inventory system.
- Maintain a controlled area when working with vendors and other store team members.
- Maintain quality standards within the department and store.
- Guard against theft, both of product and of company assets.
- Soliciting credit for damaged, short coded, or overstocked products.
- Enter DSD invoices into inventory systems
Experience:
Minimum Age: 18 years or older
Equipment use: Computer, Box Cutter, forklift, pallet jacks, trash compactor, etc.
Physical Abilities: Regularly required to walk, sit, stand, twist, and bend; repetitive use of hands and arms to push, pull, carry, lift, reach, grip, and balance; occasionally stoop, crouch, kneel, or crawl. Use of step stool and ladder. Lifting 60 pounds and may include floor to shoulder and overhead.
Communication: Ability to write, speak, hear and/or understand the spoken word in order to respond promptly to team members and guests’ needs. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance manuals.
Education: High School diploma or GED; or related job experience and/or training.
