What are the responsibilities and job description for the Patient Care Technician position at Digestive Care Center?
Digestive Care Center is looking for a Patient Care Technician for our Newburgh Office. The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting our physicians and nurse practitioners by performing patient care, procedure scheduling and other support duties in the clinic.
What You Need for this Position:
- High school Diploma or equivalent required.
- CMA(certified medical assistant) or CNA(certified nursing assistant) preferred but not required
- BLS CPR Certification.
- Medical office experience required.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Obtains and documents pertinent information in patient chart
- Obtains vital signs and place appropriately in chart
- Completes patient history in an efficient manner while maintaining patient privacy
- Marks patient status appropriately in EMR
- Alerts appropriate staff of any patient concerns
- Assists patient as needed to ancillary scheduling or to exit
- Prepares and flags room for next patient
- Complete cleaning and stocking at the end of each day
- Lock up physicians’ laptops at the end of the day
