Position Description: Custodian - Full time
Dighton - Rehoboth Regional High School
Tuesday through Friday 2:30pm to 11pm
Saturday 7am to 3:30pm
Work Schedule will be assign by the District Maintenance Manager
Qualifications:
1. Certification of good health signed by a physician
2. Demonstrated aptitude for successful fulfillment of assigned performance responsibilities.
3. Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the committee may find appropriate and acceptable.
4. Valid driver’s license
Organizational Relationships: Reports directly to the building head custodian
General Responsibilities: To provide students and staff with a safe, attractive, comfortable, clean, and efficient place in which to learn, play , work, and develop.
Specific Responsibilities:
1.Keeps buildings and premises, including sidewalk, driveways, and play areas neat and clean at all times.
2.Shovels, plows, and/or sands walks, driveways, parking areas, and steps as appropriate.
3.Sweeps or mops classrooms daily and dusts furniture and vertical surfaces according to schedule.
4.Sweeps or mops general office space daily and dusts furniture and vertical surfaces according to schedule.
5.Cleans corridors daily or more often as directed by head custodian, building principal, or designee.
6.Washes and disinfects toilets, locker rooms, and shower room floors daily, and cleans all sanitary fixtures and drinking fountains daily.
7.Washes all windows on both the inside and outside at least twice a year, and more frequently, if necessary.
8.Keeps the grounds free from rubbish.
9.Performs such ground keeping chores as grass cutting, tree trimming, and the like, to maintain the school grounds in a safe and attractive condition.
10.Keeps all floors in a clean and attractive condition.
11.Cleans all chalkboards/whiteboards at least once a week.
12.Makes such minor building repairs as he/she is capable of.
13.Reports major repairs needed promptly to the head custodian.
14.Reports to the head custodian and damage to the school property promptly.
15. Moves furniture and equipment within the building as directed by the head custodian, building principal, or designee.
16.Completes maintenance projects as assigned.
17.Performs other duties as assigned.
