Position

Member of Hardware Engineering team that is responsible for all new hardware development, maintain and improve all current hardware products. That includes low power wired and wireless sensors, cellular and Ethernet gateways. These devices are always on to monitor and protect customers’ product all the time.

This position will be a key contributor on Infrastructure Management engineering team, working with manufacturing staff and contract manufacturers in EVT, DVT, PVT and Initial Mass Production build phases. Hardware qualification of new products and obtaining all the required regulatory certifications. Support integration of firmware and hardware, work with test engineers to develop test cases and perform unit, integration and end-to-end system testing. Investigate root cause failure analysis and corrective actions of field failures and RMA products. Create engineering documents and product release through product life cycle management system.

What You Will Do

  • Complete onboarding with a tightly knit team solving hard problems the right way
  • Meet the Product Management Team and learn the hardware product roadmap
  • Meet with our contract manufacturers and start building relationships with them
  • Participating in project management activities such as schedule, budgeting and testing
  • Become familiar with current hardware products
  • Build relationship with the awesome team members across other functional groups
  • Participate in sprint and project planning and other project activities required by Agile methodology
  • Become familiar, understand, and ask questions about our hardware products
  • Proactively identifying and validating current hardware products
  • Engage with the team to improve your understanding of our hardware products
  • Built a close working relationship with our contract manufacturers
  • Visit customer sites to understand the installation of our products and use cases
  • Identifying the opportunities to improve and gaps in our current hardware products
  • Participate in new products design
  • Proactively engaged with the team calibrating your experience, development tools and outcomes to objectives
  • Root cause failure analysis of field failures
  • Key contributor to new product design
  • Participant in the testing and certification of hardware products
  • Challenge requirements while also having built confidence with the mind to enhancing the quality and efficiency of our hardware products
  • Manage hardware development projects
  • Identify new technologies for future products and participate in defining product roadmap
  • Deliver on the product improvements and new product designs
  • Key player in all hardware projects

Who You Are and What You Bring

  • BS / MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering
  • Experience in working with contract manufacturing services and material suppliers
  • Experience in working with Nationally Recognized Testing Laboratories to receive product approvals
  • Hardware Project management activities, scheduling, HW budget, and coordination
  • Experience with Altium electronics design tools for both schematic capture and PCB layout
  • Familiar with embedded Linux Operating Systems and firmware development
  • Strong engineering and analytical skills
  • Experience in working in an Agile organization
  • Excellent organizational skills, verbal and written communication skills, and presentation skills
  • Core technologies : Data Communication protocols : serial, USB and Ethernet, Cellular, battery power
  • Desired But Not Required

  • 6 years of experience in designing IoT Devices utilizing
  • Familiar with electronic packaging / enclosure design
  • Experience designing quality into the products (DFMEA, DFx)
  • Familiar with management of Cellular Provider certifications
  • Experience with utilizing PLM software to document and manage products throughout life cycle

    The anticipated base pay range for this position is $93,500 – $146,500. Pay ranges are determined by role, job level and primary job location. The range displayed reflects the reasonable range we anticipate paying for this position and reflects the cost of labor within several U.S. geographic markets. The specific salary offered within the range will depend on various factors including, but not limited to the candidate’s relevant and prior experience, education, skills, and primary work location. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each position. Pay ranges are typically reviewed and updated annually.
