Position Overview:
- The Production Manager will manage, direct, and coordinate personnel activities concerned with production. This would involve but not be limited to the management of product technology, production methods and procedures, standards, and machine and equipment capabilities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for maintaining a safe and secure work environment. This includes correcting unsafe acts/conditions, facilitating safety meetings, performing safety inspections, and investigating accidents, as required.
- Supports implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the food safety system.
- Responsible for the overall safety performance of the production department by ensuring safety programs and procedures are followed.
- Responsible for maintaining process quality
- Directs and assists with developmental or experimental production activities
- Directly supports the plant manager in all aspects of daily plant operations. Assume all duties and responsibilities of the acting plant manager when needed.
- Interacts with plant management to establish production and quality standards
- Plans and directs production activities and priorities for products in keeping with effective operations and cost factors to meet customer & business needs
- Coordinates production activities along with procurement, maintenance, production planning, safety and quality control activities to obtain optimal use of coworker and equipment resources
- Reviews and analyzes production to determine causes of non-conformity with production specifications and operating or production problems
- Through collaboration and effective communication with all appropriate parties, develop and implement methods and procedures to eliminate operational problems and improve product quality and efficiency
- Communicates and coordinates with engineering to modify machines and equipment to improve production and quality of products
- Revises production schedule as necessary
- Effectively communicates any changes in schedules, production or procedures to all shifts and coworkers
- Manages performance and development of all their direct reports
- Manages people development of the operations team, including succession planning, identifying training needs, recruiting and interviewing, annual salary reviews, and performance reviews
- Responsible for plant housekeeping.
- Performs other job-related duties as required or assigned
Minimum Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of five (5) years of experience managing in a manufacturing environment

- Minimum of ten (10) years of experience managing in a manufacturing environment
· Supervisory experience
· Proficient working with Microsoft Office Suite
- Travel up to 10%
Preferred skills / qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in engineering
- Prior experience working in the aluminum beverage can industry
- Prior experience working with Netsuite ERP
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work:
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 7 am to 4 pm.
- While the regular working cycle of this position is 5 days, Monday - Friday, this job may include working weekends (Saturday and Sunday), and working hours may vary as specified by management. The successful candidate must be able to work overtime and be on call as directed by management
Supervisory Responsibility
Directly manages 4 Production Supervisors and 1 Production lead and indirectly manages 45 production coworkers.
