The Senior Legal Director, Data and Digital, is responsible for partnering with Commercial, R&D, and other business and legal stakeholders on complex transactions, initiatives, and governance involving software, data, digital, cloud, and other advanced technologies, including artificial intelligence (AI) / machine learning (ML), that serve and anticipate the needs of the modern healthcare ecosystem. The role will help elevate data, digital, and AI / ML capabilities across Cepheid and more broadly across Danaher.
This position is part of the legal department at Cepheid and will be located in Sunnyvale or remote. At Cepheid, our vision is to democratize molecular diagnostics for better care and health. Our mission : Delivering “A Better Way” to improve patient outcomes by enabling access to molecular diagnostic testing everywhere.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to :
- Partner across functions to drive patient-centered business and innovation, with a focus on product / product development / R&D transactions and initiatives, particularly those that involve software, data, digital, cloud, AI / ML as well as other advanced technologies.
- Collaborate with Cepheid’s Chief Privacy Officer and intellectual property (IP) attorneys on privacy and cybersecurity – including privacy / cybersecurity by design in product development – as well as appropriate use / incorporation of third-party data / software.
- Provide legal advice, training, and direction on regulations impacting business operations and contractual relationships related to research, development, and launch of digital health, cloud, and medical diagnostics products / solutions.

The salary range for this role is 180,000 – 210,000 annual. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.
This job is also eligible for bonus / incentive pay.
