Job Overview:
The Final QA II is a critical role within the semiconductor manufacturing process, responsible for ensuring that all finished semiconductor products meet the company’s quality standards before shipment. This position requires expertise in performing final inspections, testing, and analysis of products to ensure they meet both internal specifications and external customer requirements. The ideal candidate will possess in-depth knowledge of semiconductor manufacturing processes, quality assurance protocols, and be adept at identifying and addressing quality issues at the final stage of production.

Key Responsibilities:
Final Product Inspection:
  • Perform comprehensive final inspection and testing of semiconductor devices, including visual, electrical, mechanical, and functional tests, to ensure compliance with product specifications.
  • Review inspection data, test reports, and documentation to verify that the final products meet both internal quality standards and external customer requirements.
  • Identify and document any defects, non-conformances, and deviations from specifications during the final inspection process.
Quality Assurance Testing:
  • Conduct electrical testing using equipment such as oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, and automated test systems to verify device performance against specifications.
  • Perform high-level failure analysis and identify root causes of defects in final products to determine corrective actions.
  • Use quality tools (e.g., SPC, FMEA, root cause analysis) to assess product quality and identify any systematic issues.
Documentation & Reporting:
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of inspection results, non-conformance reports (NCRs), and any corrective actions taken.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports on product quality, testing results, and quality performance metrics to management and relevant stakeholders.
  • Ensure that all quality control documentation complies with industry standards (e.g., ISO, IPC) and regulatory requirements.
Collaboration & Communication:
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and supply chain teams to identify and resolve quality issues.
  • Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure that corrective actions are implemented and that product quality standards are met.
  • Provide feedback to design and manufacturing teams on product performance and quality improvements.
Continuous Improvement:
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, including process optimizations, defect reduction programs, and quality control system upgrades.
  • Contribute to the development and review of quality control procedures, work instructions, and other documentation to improve the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the QA process.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions for recurring defects or quality issues.
Compliance with Industry Standards:
  • Ensure that all QA activities comply with relevant industry standards such as ISO 9001, JEDEC, IPC, and other semiconductor-specific quality standards.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements to keep the company’s quality practices up-to-date.

Qualifications:
Education:
Certification in Quality Assurance (e.g., ASQ CQE, Six Sigma) is a plus.
Experience:
  • 3-5 years of experience in semiconductor manufacturing or a related technical field with a focus on quality assurance.
  • Experience with final product inspection, electrical testing, and failure analysis in semiconductor products.
  • Knowledge of semiconductor fabrication, packaging, and testing processes.
  • Familiarity with quality control methodologies such as SPC, FMEA, and root cause analysis.
Skills:
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify even minor deviations from product specifications.
  • Proficiency in using test equipment, including oscilloscopes, signal analyzers, and automated test systems.
  • Analytical skills for troubleshooting complex quality issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Strong communication skills to interact with cross-functional teams and report on quality findings.
  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple tasks and priorities.
Software Skills:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) for reporting and analysis.
  • Experience with quality management software and databases (e.g., SAP, Oracle) is an advantage.

Physical Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a cleanroom environment or other controlled production areas.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and handle small electronic components or tools.

Additional Information:
  • This role may require occasional overtime to meet production schedules or urgent quality review needs.
  • Candidates must be flexible, adaptive, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
