We’re growing fast and are now seeking a Director of Engineering to lead our product development and technical operations. The Role

As Director of Engineering, you’ll be responsible for building, scaling, and optimizing our tech platform that powers personalized experiences at scale. You’ll oversee full-stack development, architect backend infrastructure, and manage integrations with on-site hardware (like printers and engravers). This role is a balance of hands-on coding, team leadership, and strategic product thinking.

You’ll work cross-functionally with operations, creative, and production teams to ensure that every event runs flawlessly from a tech perspective — and that we continue pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in experiential marketing.

What You'll Do

Technical Leadership

• Own the architecture, development, and deployment of our personalization platform and internal tools
• Lead backend and frontend development — with a focus on speed, reliability, and user experience
• Architect integrations with hardware (e.g. engraving machines, thermal printers, tablets, kiosks)
• Establish and uphold engineering best practices, QA processes, and deployment pipelines
• Evaluate and implement new technologies to keep our systems scalable, secure, and efficient

Team Management & Collaboration

• Manage and grow a lean, high-performing engineering team
• Collaborate closely with leadership, production, and client services to translate business needs into tech solutions
• Ensure seamless communication across teams, especially during live event execution
• Support on-site activations (as needed) to test, troubleshoot, and optimize the system in real time

Platform Evolution

• Help define and refine the product roadmap based on client feedback and internal needs
• Build tools that enhance real-time inventory, logistics, and personalization workflows
• Use data insights to improve system performance and shape future feature development
• Own system documentation and continuous improvement efforts

What You Bring

• 5 years of full-stack engineering experience with 2 years in a technical leadership role
• Strong coding skills in JavaScript/TypeScript (Node.js, React) and experience with AWS or similar cloud environments
• Comfort with hardware API integrations (printers, devices, etc.) and real-world systems
• Experience leading technical teams in a startup or fast-paced environment
• A product mindset with the ability to balance engineering rigor with design-driven experiences
• Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
• Bonus: Experience in experiential marketing, events, or live production environments
