Job Summary: The Head Varsity Lacrosse Coach is responsible for overseeing all aspects of the school's lacrosse program during the Spring Sports season. This includes coaching, player development, team management, and fostering a positive and competitive environment conducive to learning and growth.
Responsibilities:
- Coaching: Develop and implement effective coaching strategies and techniques to enhance individual and team performance. Conduct regular practice sessions focused on skill development, conditioning, and game strategies. Provide constructive feedback and instruction to players to improve their skills and understanding of the game. Develop game plans and tactics for competitive matches.
- Player Development: Assess players' strengths and weaknesses and create individualized development plans. Organize skill-building drills and exercises to enhance players' technical abilities. Foster a supportive and motivating environment that encourages player growth and confidence. Monitor players' progress and provide guidance for improvement.
- Team Management: Manage team logistics, including scheduling practices, games. Coordinate with school administrators, athletic directors, and other coaches regarding program needs and requirements. Maintain accurate records of player attendance, performance, and achievements. Ensure compliance with school and district policies, as well as league regulations.
- Leadership and Mentorship: Serve as a role model for student-athletes, promoting sportsmanship, integrity, and teamwork. Foster a positive team culture built on respect, discipline, and inclusivity. Provide mentorship and guidance to players, both on and off the court. Encourage academic success and support student-athletes in balancing their athletic and academic responsibilities.
- Community Engagement: Engage with parents, guardians, and the broader community to build support for the lacrosse program. Promote the program through outreach initiatives, such as youth clinics, camps, and community events. Collaborate with local clubs, organizations, and institutions to enhance player development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience, preferably at the high school level/College Level. In-depth knowledge of lacrosse rules, strategies, and techniques. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes. Organizational skills and attention to detail. Commitment to the academic and personal development of student-athletes.
Working Conditions:
- Work hours may vary, to accommodate practices, games, and tournaments. Travel may be required for away games and competitions. Physical ability to demonstrate and participate in athletic activities.
Salary: $4208
