We're seeking a dynamic Associate Director, People & Talent to lead HR, Talent, and Recruitment while shaping the employee experience at Digital Matter. This role focuses on hiring top talent, fostering company culture, ensuring compliance, driving retention and engagement, managing performance, and improving systems and tools. We’re looking for a strategic thinker and hands-on builder with a strong sense of initiative and action.

Responsibilities
  • Create Objectives and Key Results (OKRs) or similar frameworks to align individual goals with company objectives.
  • Audit and refine total rewards programs, offering innovative benefits that appeal to high-growth startups.
  • Conduct risk assessments, meet legal standards, and adapt to industry-specific regulations like hybrid work policies.
  • Build analytics dashboards to track key metrics, align data insights with company goals, and forecast trends.
  • Lead recruiting efforts and build processes to identify and hire top talent while anticipating future needs.
  • Oversee onboarding and offboarding to ensure seamless employee lifecycle management.
  • Create learning & development opportunities and performance management programs with clear goals, promotions, and succession plans.
  • Drive a positive, inclusive culture with morale-boosting programs and team-building initiatives.
  • Gather employee feedback, analyze turnover rates, and use exit interviews to improve retention and engagement.
  • Build initiatives focused on recognition, well-being, and meaningful connections.


Required Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, PHR) preferred
  • 7 years of HR/Recruiting/Employee Relations experience
  • Strong understanding of employment laws and regulations
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems and data management
  • Ability to influence and build relationships at all levels
  • Ability to handle a variety of situations with excellent interpersonal and communication skills


Ideal Experience
  • Proven success in implementing HR technologies to streamline recruiting, performance tracking, and feedback collection, enabling scalability in fast-growth environments.
  • Experience leading organizational change during scaling, workforce reorganizations, or acquisitions, while preserving culture and alignment.
  • Expertise in developing and launching DEI initiatives tailored to the fashion and tech industries.
  • Skilled in creating crisis management strategies to sustain morale and engagement during uncertainty or business pivots.
  • Fierce interest in fashion, technology, marketing, and innovation with a focus on future growth.

$125,000 - $175,000 a year
Hybrid model with 3 days per week in NYC office.
