What are the responsibilities and job description for the Product Manager, Video Solutions position at DIGITAL MONITORING PRODUCTS?
The Product Manager, Video Solutions will be at the forefront of our video portfolio, and will guide the organization in feature definition, technology selection, product design and user experience. They will be responsible for helping expand and deliver our portfolio of video cameras and video recording devices and will partner with the Product Manager of Software and Service Solutions to produce an in-depth and intuitive end-user experience.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of Product Management experience, leading technology product lifecycle (preferably for hardware products).
- Minimum B.S. or B.A. in Business, Marketing, Engineering or related field from a competitive school with strong academic performance.
- Previous experience managing video products (cameras, recorders, switches, etc.), with in-depth understanding of product specifications, competitors and the video market landscape.
- Track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.
- Excellent communication skills – written, verbal, presentations to large and small technical audiences.
- Previous experience communicating requirements to engineering teams and business leaders and managing requirements modifications during product development.
- Driven by deadlines – Self-starter with strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one’s sleeves to get the job done.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current CPM (Certified Product Manager) through AIPMM or equivalent organization
- Experience working in Jira and Confluence
- MBA
Responsibilities:
- Lead a no-direct report team of engineers through a fast-paced environment responsible for product development activities from inception to production. Coach, teach, mentor team members in a manner which builds trust, collaboration, and breaks down barriers.
- Manage internal and external customer expectations and communications. The primary goal of the Product Manager, Video Solutions will be to successfully build and manage customer relationships, communications, and expectations to grow our video solutions offering.
- Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, with engineering, upper management, and external customers.
- Develops a deep understanding of DMP products by working with DMP product managers, dealer visits and discussions to identify and fill product gaps while generating new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
- Conducts market research that includes customers, competitors, employees, sales, and marketing teams. Analyze the industry by attending IPVM seminars, knowing other manufacturers and their products.
- Creates buy-in for the product vision both internally and with key external partners.
- Prioritizes activities based on business and customer impact.
- Works closely with the Project Manager and cross-functional teams to deliver quality products, services, training, and support with quick time-to-market. Drives product launches. Sets and publishes launch dates.
- Evaluates promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with the product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed. Acts as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.
