Bindery Operator

We are actively hiring for a Bindery Operator, for our plant in Van Nuys, CA

Shift : 2nd M-F – 1:30pm – 10pm

Pay Range: $18 to $20 per year. Actual compensation within the range will depend on a variety of factors including the individual’s skills, experience, qualifications, and applicable laws.

The Small Bindery Operator is responsible for the set-up, adjustment and operation of the Small Bindery department such as drill hole machines and the Shrink Wrap and. The Small Bindery Operator will follow the specification from the gang sheet to determine what kind of pattern/hole will be needed to set up the drill hole machine. While running drill hole machine, the Drill Hole Operator will ensure that each hole drilled meets the gang sheet specifications in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Duties and responsibilities

• Access IMS program to determine priority jobs and set workload for the day.
• Determine what size hole the job will require according to the gang sheet.
• Set up the drill hole machine and observe while running, to make any adjustments and ensure a smooth and accurate hole is drilled on the job.
• Inspect the hole drilled on job to ensure accuracy and quality before packing in designated box.
• Record production and operational data using IMS system, such as entering completed jobs.
• Report all workplace hazards to management immediately.
• Ensure all equipment, tools, and workstation are in good working order and is free of any safety hazards.
• Must be available for any required overtime based on business needs.
• Must be proactive with completing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• At least 6 months packing experience.
• Good problem-solving skills and organizational skills.
