What are the responsibilities and job description for the Sewing Machine Operator position at Digital Room LLC?
We are actively hiring for the position of Sewing Machine Operator for our plant in Salt Lake City, UT.
Shift: 1st Shift - 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM - Monday to Friday
Duties & Responsibilities
- Produce finished graphics
- Activate sewing machine to join, gather, hem, reinforce, or finish materials/fabricated articles
- Examine and measure finished articles to verify conformance to standards
- Cut materials, according to specifications, or cut excess material or thread from a finished product, using a blade, scissors, or electric knife
- Fold or fit together materials, such as fabric or vinyl to prepare for machine sewing
- Mount attachments, such as needles, cutting blades, or pattern plates, and adjust machine guides according to specifications
- Monitor machine operation to detect problems, such as defective stitching, breaks in thread, or machine malfunction
- Troubleshoot problems as they arise
- Other fabrication duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Industrial sewing experience
- Mechanical and artistic aptitude
- Attention to details
- Cutting skills
- Ability to multitask
Physical Requirements:
The Sewing Technician position will have the following physical requirements:
- Standing/Walking (at least 25% of shift)
- Bending/Twisting/Squatting (at least 25% of shift)
- Lifting/Pushing/Pulling up to 75 lb. (consistently)
