What are the responsibilities and job description for the Assistant Controller, Corporate Payment Operations and Accounts Payable position at DigitalBridge?
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Assistant Controller to lead our Corporate Payment Operations and Accounts Payable teams. This individual will lead the Accounts Payable team while overseeing key corporate payment and expense functions to ensure efficient people and process management, understanding and adherence to strong financial controls, and seamless collaboration between accounting, finance and treasury departments. Sitting in our Boca Raton office, this position will be in our Treasury Department reporting to our Head of Finance and Treasury and will perform Treasury duties on occasion.
The ideal candidate will have a corporate accounting operations background, strong people management skills, and experience in accounts payable processes, particularly with multi-entity expense/cost allocation accounting. Prior experience managing multiple teams is preferred. The candidate will also be proactive in driving process improvements, compliance with financial policies, and advising on optimization of cash payment and payment control strategies. Corporate procurement and insurance experience a plus.
Responsibilities
Accounts Payable Team and Process Leadership
- Oversee and manage the Accounts Payable (AP) team, ensuring timely and accurate processing of invoices and payments
- Develop and implement AP policies, procedures, and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy
- Ensure compliance with company policies, tax regulations, and internal controls related to vendor payments and other disbursements
- Provide leadership and development to the AP team
Payment Operations Management
- Assist Vice President in managing the corporate travel and expense program among other payment related programs
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Process Improvement
- Identify and implement AP process improvements to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and internal controls
- Work closely with internal stakeholders, including Corporate and Fund Accounting to manage cost controls and accurate reporting
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting; CPA or CMA is a plus
- 5 years of experience in accounting, accounts payable, or accounting operations
- Proven leadership experience managing teams in a corporate setting
- Strong understanding of AP processes, cash management, and internal controls
- Experience with enterprise level general ledger / ERP systems (Yardi, Anaplan, Oracle, or similar)
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on process improvement
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate across departments
