Job summary : We are seeking an experienced Architect with 8 to 12 years of experience in DB2 administration (system DBA) to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of our database systems. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of both remote and on-site work during day shifts, with no travel required.

Responsibilities :

- Lead the design and architecture of DB2 database systems to ensure optimal performance and scalability.

- Oversee the implementation and maintenance of database solutions to meet business requirements.

- Provide technical expertise in DB2 administration, including installation, configuration, and upgrades.

- Monitor database performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure high availability and reliability.

- Develop and implement database security policies and procedures to protect sensitive data.

- Collaborate with development teams to optimize database queries and improve application performance.

- Conduct regular database backups and recovery tests to ensure data integrity and availability.

- Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for database configurations, processes, and procedures.

- Perform capacity planning and database tuning to accommodate growth and changing business needs.

- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices for database management.

- Mentor and provide guidance to junior database administrators and other team members.

- Stay updated with the latest advancements in DB2 technology and database management practices.

- Participate in on-call support rotation to address critical database issues outside of regular business hours.

Qualifications -

- Possess a strong background in DB2 administration with at least 8 years of hands-on experience.

- Demonstrate expertise in database design, implementation, and maintenance.

- Have a solid understanding of database security principles and best practices.

- Show proficiency in performance tuning and query optimization techniques.

- Exhibit excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

- Have experience with database backup and recovery processes.
