Job Description:

As a member of the interdisciplinary team, the LVN/LPN will contribute professional nursing knowledge and skills in the provision and management of care to patients through the application of the nursing process. You will work in a 28-bed unit caring for post-operative surgical patients. Nurses are trained to read telemetry strips and administer cardiac drips such as Amiodarone, Cardizem, Lasix, and Insulin. The unit is equipped with state-of-the-art bedside monitors to facilitate patient care.

Responsibilities include:

• Monitoring and providing care for post-operative patients.
• Reading telemetry strips and administering cardiac medications as needed.
• Collaborating with other healthcare professionals to provide holistic care to patients.
• Maintaining accurate patient records using EPIC EMR.
• Ensuring patient safety and comfort during treatment and recovery.

Unit Information:

• Patient-to-Nurse Ratio:
• Day shift: 1:4
• Night shift: 1:4/5

Submission Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years of current Med-Surg, PACU, and/or post-operative care experience.
• Tele strip reading experience is required.

Certification Requirements:

• BLS (AHA)
• ACLS (AHA)

State License Requirements:

• Iowa License (Compact License allowed)
