Key Responsibilities
- Project planning and execution:
- Review project drawings and specifications to understand HVAC system requirements.
- Develop detailed work plans and schedules for installation.
- Estimate labor, materials, and equipment needs for the HVAC scope.
- Coordinate with other trades on site to ensure proper sequencing of work.
- Crew management and supervision:
- Lead and supervise teams of installers, including foremen and laborers.
- Assign tasks and monitor crew productivity to meet project timelines.
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to crew members
- Address any issues or conflicts within the piping crew
- Quality control:
- Inspect installations to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
- Perform quality checks, measurements, and equipment/duct alignment.
- Identify and resolve quality issues promptly.
- Safety management:
- Enforce all safety protocols on the job site related to installation.
- Conduct safety meetings and toolbox talks with the crew
- Investigate and report any safety incidents
- Cost control:
- Monitor project budget for installation activities
- Identify potential cost overruns and implement corrective actions
- Communication and collaboration:
- Maintain open communication with project managers, engineers, other trade superintendents, and subcontractors
- Report project progress and any issues to relevant stakeholders
- Extensive experience in the HVAC industry, ideally with supervisory roles
- Thorough understanding of HVAC design, installation methods, and techniques
- Strong leadership and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
