We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Hospice Compliance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will ensure our hospice services adhere to all regulatory and legal requirements, industry best practices, and internal policies. The Hospice Compliance Officer will work closely with various departments to maintain high standards of care and compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor and ensure compliance with Medicare, Medicaid, and other applicable state and federal regulations, as well as hospice accreditation standards.
- Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures for the hospice program.
- Conduct regular audits and investigations of clinical practices, documentation, and billing to ensure accuracy and adherence to legal requirements.
- Work closely with the clinical and administrative teams to identify potential compliance risks and recommend corrective actions.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hospice regulations, including changes to legislation and industry standards.
- Prepare reports and make recommendations to senior management regarding compliance issues.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance-related matters, including coding, billing, and documentation standards.
- Serve as the primary contact for regulatory agencies during inspections and reviews.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration or Nursing
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in healthcare compliance, preferably in hospice care or a related field.
- In-depth knowledge of hospice regulations, including Medicare and Medicaid rules.
- Strong understanding of healthcare coding, billing practices, and documentation requirements.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Certification in healthcare compliance (CHC or CHPC) is preferred but not required.
