The Franciscan Center provides our community with nutrition, connection, and education. We partner with local farms and others to serve more than 250,000 fresh, healthy no cost meals a year at our center and around the city. We connect our working poor, indigent, and homeless guests, and clients with the resources they need – from government identification to secure housing – to take the next steps in their lives. And, through programs like the Dignity Plates Training Academy, we prepare them to support themselves through meaningful employment.



Position Overview

The Director of Development and Community Engagement will be responsible for cultivating a culture of philanthropy within the organization. The Director plans and implements a comprehensive fundraising program that includes major gifts, planned giving, monthly giving and special events. The Director is an experienced team leader who is responsible for developing and supporting our fundraising team to meet fundraising goals, host major fundraising events, communicate with stakeholders and engage volunteers. The position reports to the Executive Director.

We are seeking a person with extensive experience in developing and implementing fundraising strategy, donor cultivation and stewardship, planned giving, grassroots fundraising and board engagement.



Position Responsibilities

· Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards potential and current major donors and maintains ongoing relationships and leads the team including the CEO in individual and corporate stewardship activities.

· Co-Leads the development team by setting goals and strategy, meeting regularly with the team which includes staff and volunteers.

· Serves on the organizational Leadership Team that implements the strategic direction of the organization and collaborates across departments to achieve strategic priorities.

· Mobilizes the Board of Directors to support organizational fundraising and provides staff support to the Board Development Committee.

· Develops a planned giving strategy for the organization and identifies and stewards potential planned gifts.

· Provides support to the Executive Director to plan and execute special events that engage donors and meet event fundraising targets.

· Monitors and analyzes fundraising data using the CRM database to evaluate performance and adjust strategies as needed.

· Assists the Executive Director on Capital Campaign initiatives, as applicable and tracks Capital Campaign donors.

· Ensures the organization recognizes and values all donors of time, talent and money to the organization.

· Collaborates with Leadership Team to develop and execute effective donor communications and marketing materials.



Requirements

· Bachelor’s degree with at least 3 years of experience in managing a development team

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Commitment to Franciscan values and mission

· Familiarity of working with a faith-based initiative a plus, as well as a background in fund development for anti-poverty and basic needs programs

· Skills and knowledge of many social media and CRM platforms

· Ability to work independently and within a team

· Must be able to work some evenings and weekends

Job Type: Full-time


Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year

Salary : $65,000 - $75,000
