Job Title: Virtual Medical Office Assistant
Location: Remote (North Dallas , Texas)
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage patient appointments, follow-ups, and cancellations efficiently.
- Send reminders for upcoming visits or preventive screenings.
- Maintain and update patient records in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) systems.
- Organize medical documents securely and accurately.
- Verify insurance eligibility and assist in processing claims.
- Support billing inquiries to ensure timely resolutions.
- Handle phone calls, emails, and messages professionally.
- Respond to basic inquiries about office hours, services, and general medical concerns.
- Prepare charts and necessary documents for physician review.
- Assist in maintaining organized office workflows and processes.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Technical Proficiency: Experience using EMR systems and telehealth tools.
- Knowledge of Medical Terminology: Familiarity with terms commonly used in internal medicine.
- Strong Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication to interact with patients and staff.
- Organizational Abilities: Proven skills in multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- HIPAA Compliance Knowledge: Understanding of healthcare regulations and patient confidentiality.
- Experience: Prior experience of about 1-2 years in healthcare administration or as a virtual medical assistant is preferred.
