Operations Manager-Healthcare Logistics

We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager in our Healthcare Division to take over customer responsibilities in Tacoma, Spokane, Kent and Eugene, OR. Our ideal candidate is a self-motivated professional with a strong operations skill set and excellent client relationship building skills. The applicant should have a minimum of 3-5 years’ experience within the logistics industry, preferably in healthcare.

The successful candidate will have:

· Experience working directly with customers and vendors.

· A minimum of 3-5 years’ management experience in healthcare transportation, supply chain or logistics.

· Initiative to identify opportunities and issues and follow through on work activities to capitalize or resolve them.

· Ability to learn quickly and take positive action without being requested to do so.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT LIMITED TO:

• Customer account management
• Prospecting, Presentations, Negotiating & Closing new business.
• Manage driver routes and handle all driver issues within the region.
• Work in conjunction with corporate accounting staff regarding customer invoicing, vendor payments and COG efficiency.
• Plan and oversee implementation of policies, procedures, and programs for all areas of operations.
• Maintain weekly reports for region and submit them to the corporate office.
• Understand the process of capturing and maintaining margins within the market.
• P&L of IC settlements and Agents. Reduce Agent footprint and add Diligent ICs in place. Maintain and audit IC settlements & Billing for accuracy.
• Work with the Account Manager and Dispatcher to fully understand routes/stops to make necessary changes when needed.
• Maintain and develop existing and new customers through planned account support for when a new customer does their first shipment. Be present when new routes go live.
• Take notes during the visit to see if there are any challenges, relay information to Customer Service and operations to resolve issues with a HIGH SENSE OF URGENCY.
• Follow-up and follow through with each client once solutions have been implemented or issues identified within 24-48 hours of initial contact.
• Gain a clear understanding of customer’s business and service.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in business, Logistics, or related field
• Aggressive hunter mentality, excellent prospecting skills and strong sales ability.
• The ability to build rapport, ask questions, and listen.
• Great communication and presentation skills.
• The ability to negotiate and excellent closing skills.
• Healthcare, Transportation/ logistics experience is a must.
• The ability to research and learn things without oversight.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Self-motivated, energetic, charismatic, and able to think on your feet.
• High sense of urgency and results focused.
• Works through others and leads by example.
• Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Ability to travel up to 50% in assigned territory.

Diligent Delivery Systems is a nationwide logistics company utilizing thousands of independent owner-operator drivers who provide dedicated fleet-outsourcing, hot shot delivery and other logistics and courier services. Diligent operates a professional workplace environment. Many of our employees have been with the company for 10 years.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
