Job Summary
Diligent Solutions seeks a dedicated Database Administrator to support 24x7x365 operations. The successful candidate will ensure the availability, security, and continuity of various database environments, providing critical administration, maintenance, and recovery solutions.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Certification Required: CompTIA Security
- Security Clearance Required: DoD Interim Active Secret
- Candidates must have experience with Oracle or MS SQL technologies.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:
- Manage database components, including vendor software, storage, memory, security, auditing, logging, access control, high-availability architecture, data structures, encryption, and compression.
- Implement backup methodologies and monitor backup logs daily, resolving any issues to ensure complete data recoverability.
- Test and verify that backup and recovery strategies can restore full operational status in case of incidents.
- Perform database recovery and re-installation as necessary to meet RTO/RPO objectives.
- Configure and monitor data replication schemes, ensuring redundancy and recoverability in alignment with SLAs.
- Application Integration & Upgrades: Integrate databases with master applications and handle database elements of software upgrades in coordination with DISA’s change management.
- Script Execution: Execute database scripts (DML/DDL) as per approved protocols.
- Performance Tuning: Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting to optimize database and application performance, identifying root causes and preventing future issues.
- Required Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience with Oracle or MS SQL database technologies.
- Knowledge in data migration, cloning methodologies, and database network integration.
- Proficiency in backup, recovery, replication, and security methodologies.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in database management and performance tuning.
