Job Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Network Engineer with deep hands-on expertise in Cisco networking, data center operations, and modern automation technologies. The ideal candidate will have enterprise-level experience in network monitoring, automation, and security, particularly in a hybrid on-prem and cloud environment. Experience in financial services is a plus.
Required Skills & Experience:
Education: Bachelor s degree in information technology, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Experience:
- 4 years in a Cisco-based network engineering role.
- 4 years of experience supporting and managing hosted data centers.
- Strong on-premise networking and enterprise-level network monitoring experience.
- Expertise in Cisco NX-OS switches (9k & 7k), L2/L3 protocols (RSTP, EIGRP, BGP), and spine-leaf topology.
- Hands-on experience in Cisco DNA administration, including automation and support.
- Knowledge of firewalls (Cisco Firepower, ASA), SD-WAN with cloud integration, and Cisco Wireless solutions.
- Familiarity with packet analysis (DNS, proxy, application, endpoint-related analysis).
- Active Directory-related networking experience.
- Disaster Recovery & Azure networking (VNET, ExpressRoute).
Preferred Skills:
- Automation & Scripting: Experience with Python, Ansible, Terraform.
- Network Observability & Security: Experience with Cisco ISE, Cisco DCNM, Forescout NAC, Forward Networks, and InfoBlox.
- Enterprise IT Infrastructure: Experience in CI/CD pipeline integrations for network deployments.
- Monitoring Tools: Hands-on with Dynatrace or similar monitoring solutions.
- ITIL Certification & experience preferred.
- Financial industry experience is a plus.
Additional Notes:
- This role requires on-site presence in SF or San Ramon and occasional travel to Sunnyvale Data Center.
- Candidates must be comfortable with modifying network policies, system monitoring, and security posture assurance.
- Developer-oriented mindset with experience in code-driven network automation is highly desirable.
