Job Description:
UI/UX Design Architect
Location: Fremont CA
Type: Contract to Hire (6 months Contract to Hire)
Job Responsibilities
• Provide strategic design leadership aligned with business goals, collaborating with stakeholders for design strategies.
• Advocate for user-centered design principles and data-driven design decisions through user research.
• Optimize the design process for efficiency and quality, maintaining design guidelines and best practices.
• Conduct user research, interviews, surveys, and usability testing to inform design decisions and iterate on products.
• Create clear information architectures, user flows, wireframes, interactive prototypes, and design mockups.
• Ensure product accessibility compliance (e.g., WCAG, ADA, W3C) and stay updated on industry regulations.
• Develop low and high-fidelity designs/mockups.
• Establish and lead the UI/UX Center of Excellence (COE) within GIS, providing overall UI/UX design strategy, leadership, and guidance on GIS-led projects
• Develop and maintain standards, best practices, and guidelines for UI/UX design.
Minimum Qualifications
• A Degree in Design or Computer Science or related field with minimum of seven (7) years of experience in design work.
• Proficient in Figma, FigJam, Miro, Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Experience in Figma/Figjam Administration.
• Proficient in HTML, CSS, with a foundational understanding of front-e development concepts.
• Well versed with UCD Design Methodologies.
