Job Overview
The HR Generalist will play a key role in supporting various human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits administration, compliance, and training. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of HR best practices and labor laws to ensure a positive workplace culture and organizational success.
Responsibilities
- Enters and updates information in all HR related systems
- Assists with the onboarding of new employees
- Assist in the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Support performance management initiatives, including appraisals and development plans
- Acts as the initial contact for inquiries and issues related to benefits
- Organizes the maintenance, storage and elimination of departmental records, ensuring accuracy, confidentiality and compliance with federal and state laws
- Handles sensitive or classified materials and information confidentially
- Reconciles all employee benefit bills with payroll deductions
- Provides customer service as first contact with public and internal customers
- Manage and schedule all Safety Team training and activity
- Manage all aspects of the Hearing Conservation and Pulmonary Function Programs
- Ensures all OSHA updates and training are completed and timely
- Maintains OSHA Incident and Accident Log
- Performs human resource related duties in the absence of the Human Resource Manager
- Maintains company organization charts
- Prepares clear and concise reports and correspondence
- Assists in organizing and promoting special programs and events
- Completes all projects and assignments timely
Skills
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource or Business
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment a plus
- HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP) is a plus
- Strong work ethic, ability to work independently, as a team member and a team leader
- Strong oral & written communication skills, ability to communicate with all levels of the organization.
- Willingness to learn and develop
- High degree of professionalism

- Ability to cope under pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Suites
- Organizes, able to multi-task, detail oriented and able to prioritize
